Genevieve Rahman

Partner, Gilbert + Tobin

Genevieve is a Special Counsel in Gilbert + Tobin’s Competition + Regulation group. Like many women who choose to both have children and maintain a professional career in the law, Genevieve has significant experience navigating the highs and lows of flexible working. She has worked 3 days, 4 days, full time and from home. She has truly tested the limits of the extent to which flexibility can be leveraged in a private practice law firm environment, including making the decision to move from Sydney back to her home town of Canberra, where she now works remotely.  As an active member of Gilbert + Tobin’s Flexibility Committee, she has also witnessed first-hand the challenges and opportunities flexible working provides to the Partners who manage private practices.

Genevieve’s competition law expertise includes acting in relation to ACCC inquiries, investigations and enforcement proceedings. She advises on general matters, managing and navigating investigation processes and engagement and negotiation with the ACCC.  She holds significant technical experience in contested competition law matters, gained from acting on behalf of corporations and individuals in contested Federal Court and Australian Competition Tribunal proceedings involving complex market and economic evidence.
